Fast Macs

The Fast Macs promotion was first released in the UK in 1984, although initially limited to selected areas. It was reissued nationwide in 1985, making the set more widely available.

Each car is made from hard plastic and measures approximately 2 inches in length. Featuring a simple pull-back mechanism, the cars could be released to race forward, adding a fun interactive element. These toys were available to purchase for 29p with any meal. Compared to later pull-back toys, the Fast Macs are relatively simple in design, but are notable as one of the earlier examples of this now-familiar feature in McDonald’s promotions.
