McFilm

The McFilm promotion celebrated the world of movie-making with a range of toys inspired by equipment and effects used in film production. With the exception of the Film Wheel, the toys had previously appeared in the United States as part of the Makin’ Movies and Nickelodeon Game Gadgets promotions released in 1992 and 1993.

The Film Wheel came with a selection of miniature cartoon strips that could be inserted into the wheel. When spun and viewed through the slots, the images appeared to move, demonstrating a simple form of animation. The Loud Mouth Mic acted as a miniature megaphone, amplifying and projecting the user’s voice, while the Clapperboard included a piece of chalk so scenes could be written and marked just like on a real film set. Completing the set were the Applause Paws, a pair of plastic hands operated by a trigger mechanism that caused them to clap together.
