Penfriends

The Penfriends set was released as a weekly promotion, with one pen available each week alongside any purchase. Each pen was made from hard plastic, measuring approximately 5 inches in height, and featured a detachable character topper.

The set was re-released in 1989 with a few notable differences. All pens in the later version included 12-inch string cords, the Hamburglar was given a less mischievous expression, and Officer Big Mac was redesigned appearing to hold a whistle rather than what looked like a gun in the earlier release. An additional Grimace pen was also introduced to the range.
