The Euro Disney Happy Meal promotion was released in 1992 to coincide with the opening of Euro Disney near Paris earlier in the year on 12 April 1992. Renamed Disneyland Paris in later years, the resort would go on to inspire many more McDonald’s toy promotions throughout the 1990s and beyond.
The six-week set featured hard plastic action toys based on popular Disney-themed rides, each with a moving feature. The Dalmatian’s head moves, Captain Hook wobbles in his boat, Tigger spins around in the teacup, and Chip ’N’ Dale bob up and down in their train carriage.
Colourful and interactive, the set captured the excitement surrounding the launch of Europe’s first Disney theme park destination.
