McRobots

The McRobots set featured a range of food-themed toys made from hard plastic, each designed to transform from a McDonald’s menu item or packaging into a robot, similar in style to the popular Transformers toys of the era.

The concept originated in the United States as part of the New Food Changeables promotion, first released in 1989 with a larger set of eight toys. The transforming food-to-robot idea proved especially popular and has remained a fan favourite among collectors. A new Changeables set inspired by the originals was released in the USA in January 2026.
